GSNI has obtained a Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) Umbrella License. This license provides legal permission for the council—along with our troops, groups, and service units—to show a wide variety of movies, TV programs, and other content at recruitment events, camps, special council gatherings, service unit meetings, and as part of our Girl Scout Leadership Experience programs. • Check Coverage: To verify if a title is covered under our council umbrella movie license, you need to first consult the Internet Movie Database website at IMDb.com. Simply search for the title you want to check and click on your selection.
• Scroll down to the “company credits” section of the page. Click on “see more”. On the company credits page, review the “distributors” (for movies) and “production companies” (for TV). The title is covered if the distributor (for movies) or production company (for TV) is listed on the provided MPLC Umbrella License Producer List.

Ultimate Outdoor Adventure

Are you ready? Girl Scouts and adults will experience the ultimate adventure during this trip! An expert will guide everyone in a single white-water rafting experience on the Peshtigo River. Trip participants will challenge themselves on the Alpine Tower High Ropes Course and take in amazing views while going on kayak tours and stand-up paddle boarding! Participants will also be visiting the Menominee River for white-water rafting and a zipline tour. All lodging will be in outdoor tent campsite and all participants must bring their own pitch-tent. Trip will leave for Athelstane on Thursday evening, July 6, and return to Camp McCormick on July 9.

Lifeguard Training
This training Provides provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. This blended learning class includes online training with in-person practical skills, scenario drills, and CPR/First Aid for the professional rescuer.

STEW is an acronym for Special Teaching Enrichment Workshops. The information in this packet is general information, and workshop descriptions only. Registration is done online only. To help you with the registration process please read over our how to register guide.
STEW is at Camp Dean in Big Rock, Illinois, from September 29-October 1, 2023. We hope the time you spend at STEW is a fun learning and bonding experience with other Girl Scout adults! Participants have two options: spend the entire weekend (Friday with check in opening at 6 p.m. until Sunday after our closing ceremony ending approximately at 12:00 p.m.) or attend Saturday only (9 a.m.6:30 p.m.).
Here is all the information you need to make your weekend an enjoyable experience:
Sleeping Units
Sleeping accommodations include a bunk in a sleeping cabin or lodge. You may also pitch your own tent. All sleeping accommodations are first come, first served. Outdoor units have limited access to electricity. There will be limited refrigerator space for participants personal food. Latrines are nearby and the shower house will also be open for use.
A late-night gathering spot will be available at Dean Lodge for night owls who want to catch up with friends until the wee hours of the morning.
Meals
Meals are served cafeteria-style in Dean Lodge, except for Saturday lunch. Those with food intolerances are invited to eat first, then the hostesses invite people by table to get their meal. Saturday lunch features a cooking workshop, and this year everyone will be making the same lunch but can learn how to use different cooking methods. You can also make a brown bagged lunch if you choose to not participate in a cooking workshop. We will make every effort to accommodate special dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten free, if we know about them in advance.
Camp Kapers
Kapers are essentially chores. Volunteering with various housekeeping duties helps keep our costs low. If staying the weekend, everyone participates in various kapers around camp. Kaper sign ups will be done when you check in. Everyone is responsible for kapers in their sleeping units before breakfast on Sunday and at their final workshop location on Sunday morning.
Health History
Participants are asked to complete a Health History form and turn it in at the registration desk when they arrive. Please place it in a sealed envelope. It will only be opened if there is an emergency. After the event, all health histories will be shredded.
Final Confirmation
You will receive a final confirmation two weeks before the event, packing list, health history form, and camp map. Your schedule can be found in your Active Net Account. Links for all waivers to be signed will also be included.

STEW is an acronym for Special Teaching Enrichment Workshops. The information in this packet is general information, and workshop descriptions only. Registration is done online only.
STEW is at Camp Dean in Big Rock, Illinois, from September 29-October 1, 2023. We hope the time you spend at STEW is a fun learning and bonding experience with other Girl Scout adults! Participants have two options: spend the entire weekend (Friday with check in opening at 6 p.m. until Sunday after our closing ceremony ending approximately at 12:00 p.m.) or attend Saturday only (9 a.m.6:30 p.m.).
Here is all the information you need to make your weekend an enjoyable experience:
Meals
Meals are served cafeteria-style in Dean Lodge, except for Saturday lunch. Those with food intolerances are invited to eat first, then the hostesses invite people by table to get their meal. Saturday lunch features a cooking workshop, and this year everyone will be making the same lunch but can learn how to use different cooking methods. You can also make a brown bagged lunch if you choose to not participate in a cooking workshop. We will make every effort to accommodate special dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten free, if we know about them in advance.
Camp Kapers
Kapers are essentially chores. Volunteering with various housekeeping duties helps keep our costs low. If staying the weekend, everyone participates in various kapers around camp. Kaper sign ups will be done when you check in. Everyone is responsible for kapers in their sleeping units before breakfast on Sunday and at their final workshop location on Sunday morning.
Health History
Participants are asked to complete a Health History form and turn it in at the registration desk when they arrive. Please place it in a sealed envelope. It will only be opened if there is an emergency. After the event, all health histories will be shredded.
Final Confirmation
You will receive a final confirmation two weeks before the event, packing list, health history form, and camp map. Your schedule can be found in your Active Net Account. Links for all waivers to be signed will also be included.
