Behind every GSNI Girl Scout and volunteer is a team of local staff and Board of Directors ready to help them earn that next badge, embark on a camping adventure, or organize an impactful service project. That’s what Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is. We are here to maintain camp properties, provide local Girl Scouts skill-building programming and resources to achieve whatever they can dream up.
We’re nearly 13,000 strong—9,000 girls and 4,000 adults who believe together, we can change the world. Our members develop leadership skills in 16 counties including parts or all of Boone, Carroll, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago.
GSNI is plugged into our community! We provide quality resources, support, and training to each of our 32 geographic service areas—which we call service units. Each service unit is made up of dedicated (and amazing) volunteers who act as a team to provide Girl Scout activities, events, and programs to each local community. Many service unit volunteers are also troop leaders who work directly with the members to achieve all the benefits the Girl Scout Leadership Experience has to offer! Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is a safe place for girls to be accepted, feel welcomed and be inspired.
An audit of the council is conducted annually. Our 990 is available for download, as is our Annual Report and our bylaws.
