Start your babysitting business on the right foot and learn how to be a safe, professional, and reliable sitter. During this training, you will learn basics of care for infants and children, child behavior, age-appropriate activities, emergency protocols, professionalism, leadership, and more! Receive your American Red Cross Babysitting certification and add even more value for your clients.

Note: Illinois Department of Child and Family Services require participants to be 14 years or older to babysit. Training is available for Cadette Girl Scouts to prepare for future babysitting careers. Participants will need to bring their own lunch.

This training does not include Adult and Pediatric CPR/Fist Aid/AED, and participants should seek additional training options. Certification is for youth participants only. Due to limited size of the class, participants are not required to bring adult chaperones.

The troop leader or the caregiver who registers the Girl Scout for this training will receive an email with instructions to share with their Girl Scouts two weeks before the training date. This email will include any information needed to send to the Red Cross by GSNI ahead of the class for the certification. All participants who complete the training will receive an email from the Red Cross within four business days with a link to their online certification in Red Cross' learning system.
