Camp McCormick Troop Camp Girl Scout Power!
Girl Scout Superheroes! This is your week at camp to train and strengthen your skills. Recognize everyday heroes and explore your own heroic talents through risk taking, role play, and teamwork. Campers will work towards the Athlete and Creative Play badge series through camp games and superhero training exercises.
GSNI camp staff will be hosting family and troop camps Fridays through Sundays throughout the summer at Camp Dean and Camp McCormick. All meals will be provided by camp staff. These meals and snacks will be a combination of family-style meals in the dining hall and unit cookouts. Camp staff will assist in cookouts. Both troops and families can participate in all available camp activities for the weekend including all facilitated outdoor activities. Core camp staff will be on site to assist groups during their weekend stay. Camp staff will facilitate outdoor skills and activities, themed arts and crafts, games, and badgework throughout their session.
Troops: Each troop will reserve a unit to attend camp. Troops do not need to come with family members but must provide adequate Girl Scout-to-adult ratios. Troops must consist of a minimum of 5 youth and 2 adult attendees. Registrations that do not have minimum size or appropriate ratios will be turned away.
Troops will utilize the Deertrail unit at Camp McCormick. Deertrail sleep up to 24 Girl Scouts and adults. Leaders do not need GSNI Outdoor Overnight Training to attend.
All troops and families will be sharing unit/lodge space with other groups at camp. Groups register each participant individually. The deposit for troop and family camps is $50/participant and remaining balance can be placed on payment plan. It is recommended groups register all participants early as space is limited.
Each session begins with check-in at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Check-out at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
*Note: Payments for troop campers will be automatically withdrawn by ActiveNet on the 15th of each month beginning January 15, 2024 and ending April 15, 2024.
GSNI is backed by dedicated adults, mentors, and child advocates who put safety first. Volunteers who facilitate and chaperone our programs are fully background-checked. We also welcome family members and trusted adults to our programs. Each participant must follow all GSNI safety guidelines. We support and appreciate everyone who makes our programs safe, fun, and inclusive for every Girl Scout!
