Rockford – Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois (GSNI) recently received a generous $5,073 grant from Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. Funds from this grant will be used to support Project Opportunity in Rockford, a program which expands access to Girl Scouting by providing financial assistance and support to children and families who might otherwise face barriers to participation. Through Project Opportunity, current and future Girl Scouts in the Rockford community can engage in hands-on leadership development, STEM exploration, outdoor experiences, and community service while building confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging that empowers them to thrive now and in the future.
GSNI would like to thank Community Foundation of Northern Illinois for joining in the Girl Scout Mission where our future community leaders have a space all their own, where their interests, their experience, and their leadership—today and tomorrow—is the top priority!
