Press Release: Early Bird Registration Opens for Annual Thin Mint Sprint with Local Girl Scouts

It’s the 22nd year for this celebrated community walk/run which raises funds to provide Girl Scout memberships, uniforms, programs, and camp sessions to children who might not otherwise have access.
Fox River Grove – Early Bird Registration is now open for Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois’ 22nd Annual Thin Mint Sprint! The run’s 2026 theme is Girl Scouts Pave the Way!
This fundraising 5K fun run/walk will be Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 8:30 a.m.–Noon. The race route will begin and end at Lions Park in Fox River Grove and take participants along a scenic path through Fox River Grove for a timed run, ending with a post-race party!
Early Bird Registration is $40 per person through July 31; $45 per person from August 1–September 11, and $50 per person on race day, September 12. Registration fee includes Thin Mint Sprint T-shirt, chipped-timing bib, medal, fun patch, box of official Girl Scout Thin Mints® Cookies, and extra swag items. All funds raised through the 22nd Annual Thin Mint Sprint will support GSNI's financial assistance programs ensuring increased access for more local Girl Scout memberships, activities, and leadership experiences.
