GSNI Alum Spotlight: Janice “Jan” Starke
Years as a Girl Scout: Unsure
Jan is a very proud Lifetime Girl Scout. While she says her memory isn’t always what it used to be, there are some things she’ll never forget—like Girl Scout camp. She still finds herself singing her old camp song to just about anyone she meets. It always ends the same way, “back where the toilets flush”. That part of the song is always memorable!
She’s been lucky to do some traveling throughout her life. One of her favorite stops was Petra in Jordan. It was such an incredible place, and as a Girl Scout, she couldn’t help but smile and say, “Petra, I’m glad I met ya!”
Jan tells us that the joy, songs, and spirit of being a Girl Scout have stayed with her all these years, and they always will!
