GSUSA Membership Dues

Cost of Girl Scouting
Girl Scouts always want to be prepared and we want our parents to be prepared too! Here’s a brief view at the monetary costs associated with being a Girl Scout.

The $25 annual (October 1 – September 30) membership dues are paid directly to Girl Scouts of the USA to provide national and international opportunities for girls and adults and supplemental medical insurance. Financial Assistance is available.

Troop Dues
Troops may also have “troop dues” which might cover the cost of activities, badge work and field trips. Troop dues vary by troop; please contact your daughter’s Leader for more information.

Uniforms
Girl Scouts at each level have one official uniform item (tunic, vest, sash) for the display of official pins and awards. While not required for Girl Scout membership, this official uniform item is required when girls participate in ceremonies or officially represent the Girl Scout Movement. Girls new to Girl Scouting or who have just bridged to a new age level may want to check out our Girl Scout Starter kits.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available for troop dues or uniform components. Talk with your daughter’s Leader to obtain a copy of the request form.

Events and Camps
Girl Scouts also have the opportunity to participate in council sponsored events and camp programs. These activities generally have additional fees. Financial Assistance is available.
