Join us at Camp Dean to learn more about the local aquatic
wildlife, conservation, and fly fishing!
This event is for
Cadette Girl Scouts, ages 11-14.
Oak Brook Trout Unlimited is
committed to youth education and hosts the STREAM Girls program. This
STEM education + Recreation & Art program was developed in
partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA to explore local streams and
wildlife. Every person is a citizen of their watershed, and Cadette
Girl Scouts can learn what it means to them. While spending the day at
Camp Dean, Cadettes will observe Welch Creek and the pond as
scientists, anglers, and artists. They'll measure the creek, sample
micro-invertebrates, tie flies, and try fly casting and fishing.
Participants will receive a complete picture of the importance of
local waterways and the animals that inhabit them.
