Join us to learn about local aquatic wildlife! The Oak
Brook chapter of Trout Unlimited (OBTU) will host STREAM Girls, a STEM +
Recreation and Arts program designed to explore waterways and the
surrounding ecosystem. Every person is a citizen of their watershed,
and Cadette Girl Scouts can learn what it means to them. Participants
will interact with Camp Dean's Welch Creek and pond as scientists,
anglers, and artists. Through multiple activities, they will better
understand the importance of waterways and the role they can play in
conserving natural resources.
Location: Camp Dean
Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost:
Free
Register by: June 17, 2026.
During this program, participants will observe water
sources and the surrounding areas, sample aquatic macroinvertebrates,
and try fly casting and fishing. Girl Scouts need to bring a sack
lunch. All equipment will be provided. STREAM Girls completes most of
the requirements for the Cadette Think Like a Citizen Scientist
