This introductory training provides participants with an overview of the MakerSpace, its purpose, and how to safely and effectively use the space. Participants will learn about available equipment, tools, and materials, along with basic operation guidelines and safety procedures. The training also covers expectations for supervising youth, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, and proper setup and cleanup of the MakerSpace. Upon completion, participants will be prepared to support simple MakerSpace activities and confidently facilitate hands-on, creative experiences for Girl Scouts.
This training covers only the basics of MakerSpace programming. Volunteers interested in facilitating specialized programming such as Cricut or Glowforge should register for one of the upcoming advanced training sessions.
