Girl Scout Day at the Capitol is a unique opportunity for Girl Scouts throughout Illinois and surrounding states to assemble while learning about our government and community.  This year our event will look a little different as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! This event also gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to discover downtown Springfield and the history of our State Capitol.

See history in action as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Participate in a Girl Scout flag ceremony, learn about history at the expo, march to the capitol, hear from special guest speakers, eat lunch on your own, then begin an adventure in Downtown Springfield. Groups will spend the afternoon exploring Downtown Springfield at various museums and historical sites to be immersed in history and collect stamps on their event passport. Get 3 or more stamps on your passport and receive an additional event fun patch. Don't worry, the highly anticipated balloon drop is back. This year, it will help us kick off this exciting event. Girl participant price includes event fun patch(es).
