GSNI will hold its 2023 Annual Meeting and Recognition Event on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m.– 12 Noon with an optional continental breakfast from 8–8:45 a.m. the Barsema Alumni & Visitors Center at Northern Illinois University (231 North Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb).
We are excited to welcome special guest Karen Layng, GSUSA National Board President, to our Annual Meeting! Our business meeting agenda will feature a State of the Council address, election of new board members, and a presentation of proposals to be presented at the 2023 National Council Session. All registered GSNI members, 14 years of age and older, are voting members of the council.
Following the business meeting, there will be a presentation of annual volunteer awards including Volunteer of Excellence, Appreciation Pin, Honor Pin, President’s Award, Thanks Badge, Thanks Badge II, and Hall of Fame Award.
Girl Scout recognition will include the Forever Green Ceremony, Girl Scout Gold Award Ceremony, and recognition of GSNI Scholarship recipients. The Forever Green Ceremony honors graduating Girl Scouts bridging to adult members. These Girl Scouts will “cross the bridge” from youth members of Girl Scouts to adult members with a renewed commitment to help build courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Gold Award Ceremony will recognize those who have earned their Girl Scout Gold Awards between March 16, 2022–March 15, 2023.
Registration* opens February 1, 2023, and is required, although there is no charge to attend. A map and parking information will be included in the final confirmation sent to registrants one week prior to the event. Please register by April 19, 2023.
