This is the time of year when we are all excitedly waiting for summer fun, summer weather, getting away, the pool, camping, outdoor adventures, picnics, walks in the wood, ice cream, and the opportunity to try new things. While GSNI can’t promise good weather, we can help you and your family with all the rest! Check out our Activities Page for many opportunities—all of which are reasonably priced for girls and families. We will see more of you at our camps this summer than we saw in 2019 (our last pre-COVID year) which is great news for everyone!
If you haven’t done so already, I would ask you to renew your membership for the upcoming Girl Scout year, which looks as though it could be the first “normal” year since 2019. If you do this as an end-of-the-school year activity, it will be one less thing on your summer to-do list and you will have more time to enjoy being together with family and friends! Troops that renew 50% of their Girl Scouts and two adult members by June 30, 2022, will receive a free troop T-shirt for each renewed member of the troop. Juliettes who renew their Girl Scout membership by June 30, 2022, will also receive this free T-shirt!
On a personal note, this is my penultimate Around GSNI to you all, as I have about one month left before retiring, having been CEO of GSNI for almost 9 years. I am excited to have the opportunity to say goodbye to many of you at some of our outdoor activities during June, as well as an evening at each of our Resource Centers for a drop-in chat, activity, snack, patch, and photo. Join me from 5–7 p.m. on June 23, at our Rockford Resource Center, and June 27 at our Oswego Resource Center.
Meeting girls is the best part of my role as CEO. Encouraging and motivating girls to reach their leadership potential is my passion. The world needs more leaders like your daughters!
