After completing an Appreciative Inquiry process in 2021, GSNI developed five Action Teams to drive and support membership growth. These teams are led by staff members, with Board, volunteer, and older Girl Scout representation. Here’s what we’re working on:
The Communications and Brand Awareness Action Team met to continue their work on GSNI’s podcast as well as a communications audit. They are also now exploring the possibility of using TikTok!
The Recruitment Processes Action Team met in-person to develop a flow chart modeling GSNI’s process of recruiting Girl Scouts and families, from first contact through ongoing support to members. They’re continuing to work on the flowchart and identifying specific actions and expectations out of this work.
The Community Engagement Action Team is gathering input from service units about religious leaders in their communities! The team will review all information at their next meeting and work on resources to help build new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
The Older Girl Scout Action Team has several exciting projects in the works! Ten service units have been identified to host 5th grade retention events. The team also launched a poll in February to identify Girl Scouts who may be interested in sharpening their skills in areas like blogging, being a social media influencer, and hosting events. Finally, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador troop leaders should have received an email in February asking them to opt in to GSNI’s new Older Girl Scout Directory which will provide troops with an easier way to connect with each other!
The Hiring for Diversity Action Team is continuing to streamline the staff recruitment process. GSNI is also now including interview questions that are related to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA), culture, and community involvement.
If you would like to learn more about the work of any Action Team, share your own feedback or input, or are interested in joining a team, please contact email@example.com with the subject line “Action Team” and specify which Action Team you’d like to learn more about!
