You are invited! Snapshots are open to girls who will be entering Kindergarten and 1st grades (Daisies) and 2nd and 3rd grades (Brownies) and their parents who are interested in learning more about Girl Scouts!

Below you will find a listing of SnapShot virtual events. Please sign up for the time, day, and level that is the right fit for you and your daughter. During our time together, we will show you some fun activites that can be done simply with common household items. We can't wait to meet you and have this opportunity to tell you about Girl Scouts!

Robot Friend & Get Ready for the Outdoors

Computers may seem smart because they can do lots of things for us! However, computers cannot think for themselves. They can only do things they’re told to do. We’ll play a game to see how computer programs can control robots! Then, learn how to get ready for a day outdoors with your family! Grab your bag and your snacks and go have an adventure!

Supplies needed:

  • Activity 1 - Robot Friend
    • 2 sheets of 8x11 paper
    • Markers, crayons, or colored pencils
  • Activity 2 - Get Ready for the Outdoors
    • Reusable bottle
    • Flashlight
    • Long-sleeved shirt/jacket
    • Raincoat
    • Closed-toe shoes
    • Sun protection (Hat with brim, sunglasses, lip balm, sunscreen, etc.)
    • First-aid kit
    • Toilet paper

Design and build your very own Indoor Fairy House! Using tools and materials from home, you'll create and develop a fairy garden house, just like an engineer!

All About Me Nest!

Together, we will build a bird’s nest and learn about ourselves at the same time. Tell us about your family members and what makes them special!

Supplies needed:

  • Brown paper lunch bags or plastic grocery bags
  • Small squares of paper
  • Other craft materials as available: cotton balls, felt, artificial flowers, or pipe cleaners
  • Markers, crayons, or colored pencils

Edible Campfire & Square Knot

Wednesday, October 7
12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

During our time together we will learn how to make an edible campfire and how to tie a square knot! We will teach you how to build a proper campfire using snacks found in your kitchen and using any rope or sting we will try out a square knot.

Supplies needed:

  • Plate
  • small cup of water
  • spoon or fork
  • small round-ish snacks such as chocolate-covered candies, cereal round, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, cheese cubes, or grapes
  • small, slim snacks such as crush cashews, coconut flakes, potato sticks, peanuts, raisins, or alfalfa sprouts
  • thin, long snacks, such as pretzel sticks, veggie straws, licorice string, or string cheese
  • thicker, long snacks, such as jumbo pretzel sticks, licorice, celery sticks. or carrot sticks
  • orange or red snacks such as corn curls, candy corn, strawberries, or pepper slices
  • string, rope, shoelace, or cord at least 1 foot in length

Animals communicate through movements, like dancing, and so do humans—ballet, tap and hip-hop dancing are all ways that humans share their emotions and even tell stories! We are going to create our favorite animal faces using paper plates and our imagination. We will then wrap up the activity by dancing like those animals to express ourselves
