All GSNI Girl Scouts are invited to attend the annual Stateline Scout Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 7, from 7 a.m.–1 p.m., at the corner of Chapel St. and Main St. in Rockton, Illinois. Prizes will be awarded in each Girl Scout/Boy Scout age group, for Girl Scout vs. Boy Scout competitions, along with hourly attendance door prizes.
The Hanover/Elizabeth Girl Scout Brownie Troop 5270 is raising breast cancer awareness throughout the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Girl Scout founder, Juliette Low, founder of Girl Scouts of the USA, died from breast cancer and the girls are honoring her memory during her birthday month. The Girl Scouts are have hung pink ribbons throughout Hanover, participated in the Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce's Scarecrow Contest with a Breast Cancer Awareness themed entry, and handed out pink lemonade at the Apple River State Banks in Hanover and Elizabeth from 9–11 a.m. on Saturday, October 19.
The Rockford Service Center will be hosting a Blood Drive on Monday, March 4th, from 9am – 1 pm for the Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC). The RRVBC is the sole supplier of blood and blood products for 9 area hospitals, which include, Rockford, Rochelle, Beloit, Harvard, Belvidere and Edgerton.
