Spend the day with volunteers from across the council to share your experiences in Girl Scouting and learn about all that’s available to girls. Complete an official training like GSLE: Getting From Here to There, 3 Processes: One Powerful Program, or Take Action Projects 101. Options also include enrichment sessions featuring website and social media, and travel opportunities.

 

Network with other volunteers, share your experiences, discover new resources, and energize yourself for the new Girl Scout membership year!

 

The Girl Scout Volunteer Experience will be held on the dates in the locations listed below. Click on the date to rgister!

  

 

Each event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Click on the date to register! 

 

 When registering, please choose from the following sessions:

  

GSLE: Getting From Here to There (Parts 1 and 2)
When all components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience are implemented by enthusiastic volunteers, girls gain leadership skills to last a lifetime! In this session, you’ll dive into Journeys and Badges to discover how they work together to help girls gain leadership skills and experience. Practice using the leaders’ resources to explore the link between a Journey theme, a Badge, and program events.

 

To COMPLETE the GSLE: Getting From Here to There training, you must also attend Part 3. If you’d prefer to attend a different session, feel free, but you will not have completed the GSLE training.

 

GSLE: Getting From Here to There (Part 3)

There’s more to the GSLE than just Journeys and Badges! Briefly explore the topics of the 3 Processes (girl-led, learning by doing, and cooperative learning), reflection, Take Action vs. Community Service Projects, My Promise My Faith award, and working with multi-level troops.

 

To COMPLETE the GSLE: Getting From Here to There training, you must also have attended Parts 1&2. If you attended a different session, you may still attend this one, but you will not have completed the GSLE training.

 

Three Processes: One Powerful Program
It’s not just what you do; it’s how you do it! This session defines and investigates the three vital processes that make the Girl Scout Leadership uniquely strong— Girl-Led, Learning by Doing, and Cooperative Learning. You’ll learn how to implement each technique in age-appropriate ways to benefit girls. Make Girl Scouting sensational for every girl!

 

Take Action Projects 101
What is a Take Action Project? Is it different from a community service project? In this session, you’ll uncover how girls can make valuable, sustainable change to their community and the world. You’ll also study how Take Action Projects fit into your girls’ Journeys. Best of all, you’ll walk away with skills to make Take Action Projects into a truly girl-led experience!

 

Girl Scout Media Toolbox
You know your Girl Scouts are doing amazing things! How can you share your successful ideas and resources with others? Attend this session for media savvy tips from the experts! Hear how to promote your troop or service unit activities by developing fliers using templates with Girl Scout branding guidelines. Learn to publicize your troop news and how to use social media to communicate with your troop. You’ll also take a guided tour through GSNI’s new resourceful website!

 

Pack Your Bags with Girl Scout Travel
Whether you’re troop camping, visiting an historic downtown, taking a road trip to Savannah, Georgia, or achieving a dream adventure to Paris, you can help make it happen for your Girl Scouts! This session will teach the basics of what Girl Scout travel has to offer for girls at every level. You’ll gain knowledge on how to help girls get started traveling, how to make travel a girl-led experience, money earning ideas, and Girl Scouts of the USA’s destinations travel program.

 

Volunteer Mash-Up
Moms, dads, teachers, retirees, coaches—Girl Scout volunteers come in all shapes and sizes! The one thing they all share is the commitment to helping girls build courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place. But, how do you do that? This session tunes you into the most helpful resource you’ll ever have— your fellow volunteers! Seasoned volunteers been through many of the same obstacles you may face and have emerged triumphant! This is also your opportunity to share your successes, ask questions, learn from others, and brainstorm creative solutions. You’ll love this fast-paced, all-about-you session!
