Health and Safety show/hide
All Girl Scout camps in this brochure are licensed by their state and uphold state and federal health and safety codes, as well as Girl Scouts of the USA policies and standards. All camps meet industry standards for health, safety, site, food service, management, human resources, program design and activities. Due to the length of season, GSNI has chosen to have only Camp Dean and Camp McCormick accredited by the American Camp Association.
Health lodges are staffed by a resident health supervisor. Unit counselors are First-Aid/CPR trained. For all camps, emergency care is available at a nearby clinic and a doctor is on call for consultation and treatment needs. Campers staying for four or more nights will need to have had a physical within 24 months prior to attending camp. All resident campers are screened at check-in.
No camper, child or adult, is admitted to camp without the proper health form completed and signed. The proper form and instructions are mailed or e-mailed in the confirmation packet. Each camp has procedures in place to monitor and respond to weather conditions to ensure the health and safety of campers. Details are included in the confirmation packet.

Visitors/Phone Calls show/hide
We invite camp families to visit during the scheduled Camp Open Houses, view the facilities, and meet the staff. Visitors are welcome only at that time. For safety, access to camp properties is limited when children are present. Once camp is in session, it is important for our girl-planned schedule to run smoothly.
