BLING YOUR BOOTH CONTEST

If your girls have made a decision to have a Cookie Booth be sure they know about the Bling Your Booth contest. This is a great time for them to plan how they want to decorate their Cookie Booth for the “Goal Setting” theme of this year’s contest. Winning troops will receive:

  • First prize: $50 Girl Scout Shop Certificate
  • Second prize: $30 Girl Scout Shop Certificate
  • Third prize: $20 Girl Scout Shop Certificate

Remember that an entry form must be filled out and submitted along with a picture of the Cookie Booth to your local area Service Center by 5 P.M., March 30. Detailed contest forms can be found on our website, www.girlscoutsni.org, under Cookie Volunteer Forms. Be creative and make it fun!

There’s lots of celebrating going on in GSNI!

GSNI HISTORICAL EXHIBITS

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take a walk through Girl Scout history. Visit one of our local historical exhibits and see Girl Scout displays, uniforms, badges and more from the rich history of the past 100 years.

GSNI’S CENTENNIAL PATCH PROGRAM

GSNI’s Centennial Patch Program for all program levels is sure to get our Girl Scouts moving and learning all about the PEOPLE, PLACES and TRADITIONS of Girl Scouting. You can also find suggestions for your own service unit and troop activities and fun facts about the past 100 years!

OTHER CELEBRATION PLANS

There are plenty of ways to celebrate and honor the past 100 years of Girl Scouting and to look forward to our next 100 years! Visit our website at www.girlscoutsni.org for details on local and national anniversary events and how you can earn our layer-cake patch by attending one of our local celebrations. And don’t forget about the I Want to Rock the Mall YouTube contest and GSNI’s big Centennial Celebration at the NIU Convocation Center on Saturday, April 28, 2012.

Our cookie deliveries are right around the corner (Freeport 2/9-2/13, Rockford 2/14-2/17, and Elgin/Sugar Grove 2/13-2/18).

Our customers are as anxious for their cookies to arrive as we are. When your troop has picked up cookies orders, get them to your customers as quickly as you can. That’s giving great customer service while putting “People Skills” into action! And once cookies are delivered they disappear very quickly creating a desire for more cookies. This is a great time to use up any surplus on hand and direct a customer’s attention to the upcoming Cookie Booths beginning February 24. If you haven’t already signed up for a Cookie Booth now is a great time. We have plenty of available slots under Council Sales and of course you still have the opportunity to secure your own booth site and put it into eBudde. Our Service Center Cupboards will be open soon making more cookies available to troops all the way through March 18, 2012.
