GS'n'I...Together We Make a Difference!
Now a Weekly E-Newsletter
With our Anniversary year upon us, we want to be sure to send out up-to-date information about our celebration events, alumnae events, updates for parents and supporters of Girl Scouts and opportunities for our girls in Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois. It's also our goal to help our volunteers as they guide girls through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
With that in mind, we are revamping our e-mail newsletter system for 2012. Instead of sending weekly e-blasts regarding a specific subject and then sending a newsletter just for volunteers, we will be sending out one e-newsletter each Friday evening.
We realize that the last couple of months you have been receiving multiple e-mails from GSNI regarding a variety of subjects. So as not to overwhelm you with e-mails byt knowing that you still want to stay connected to what's going on in your Girl Scout council, we are moving to a general weekly e-newsletter.
We are titling this e-newsletter GS'n'I...Together We Make a Difference! Because you ALL make a difference with Girl Scouting...girls, parents, volunteers, supporters and community members.
If you have any suggestions regarding your GS'n'I e-newsletter, please feel free to contact ckocol@girlscoutsni.org. Meanwhile, enjoy!
Are you participating in the nation's largest entrepreneurial program for girls?
If you haven't begun selling Girl Scout Cookies, it's not too late! Just let us know and you'll be off and running, earning Cookie Dough or S'More Dough that you can use in a variety of ways:
- Buy journey books or the new Girls' Guide to Girl Scouting
- Purchase 100th Anniversary collectables or other items in one of our Girl Scout shops
- Save your "Dough" to help pay for a fun council-sponsored program event or summer camp
You'll also be developing five important skills that will help you now and in the future:
Goal Setting - girls set their own goals
Decision Making - girls make decisions about how to spend their cookie proceeds and/or "Dough" and how to maximize their sales
Money Management - girls tally orders and count change
People Skills - girls learn to interact with people and understand the importance of customer service
Business Ethics - girls begin to understand how important it is to be honest, meet deadlines and understand how to properly market a product
We hope all Girl Scouts decide to sell cookies! Set a troop goal and a personal goal (our national goal is 128 boxes per girl). Managing money using people skills and practicing business ethics will help developing 5 important skills to use for a lifetime!
Remember our theme this year, "What can a cooke do? MORE than you see". What will your cookies do? Visit our website for more on this year's Girl Scout Cookie Program!
