Has your girl ever wondered what it would be like to be a Girl Scout? This is her chance to learn all about being a Girl Scout at the Girl Scout Experience, hosted by Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois. She’ll spend a fun and exciting day exploring new activities, participating in camp games, and making new friends! This event is open to all girls in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The Girl Scout Experience is June 26, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Parents may drop off girls from 8:45–9:15 a.m. at Wheeler Park, 822 N. First Street, in Geneva. Advance registration is available for only $5, if received by June 19, 2013. Registration is $7 the day of the event. Girls should bring a sack lunch and water bottle. To ensure safety during activities, girls should not wear open-toe shoes. For more information or to register, contact Christina Kirsch at 630-897-1565, Ext. 7182, or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
The safety of our campers and volunteers takes priority over anything else and due to the likeliness of severe winds and intense storms and our lack of indoor/underground shelter the Aztec Twilight Camp at The Hollows in Cary, IL will be cancelled for this evening, Wednesday, June 12. Twilight Camp will resume tomorrow as scheduled.

Volunteers throughout the council plan and carry out a variety of Day/Twilight Camps. The following list includes the volunteer run camps for 2013. Adult volunteers are the key to success for each volunteer run Day/Twilight Camp. If you enjoy working with children, we encourage you to volunteer. Volunteers are needed for 1-5 days. Your help is vital to ensure the success of these camps. If you are able to volunteer, please Felicia Dupczak at This email address is being protected from spambots. Spend the day with volunteers from across the council to share your experiences in Girl Scouting and learn about all that’s available to girls. Complete an official training like GSLE: Getting From Here to There, 3 Processes: One Powerful Program, or Take Action Projects 101. Options also include enrichment sessions featuring website and social media, and travel opportunities.

Network with other volunteers, share your experiences, discover new resources, and energize yourself for the new Girl Scout membership year!

The world is always changing, and Girl Scouts tries to keep up with the new situations and challenges that often accompany these changes. We work hard to make sure our organization is relevant to today's young women and that we are fulfilling our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
