Did you know you could cook almost anything over the fire, even cake? During GSNI’s summer camps, we provide an opportunity for all campers to cook over the fire at least once. It might be breakfast, dinner, dessert, or even just a snack. Cooking over fire gives girls the opportunity to create and try new things. At camp, we use several favorite recipes including the one below! Come to camp this summer and enjoy a newfound campfire favorite. It’s sure to be delicious!

Where can you play tag with dye and decorate your buddy’s shirt while they’re wearing it? CAMP! Where will you see adults standing in front of a group wearing their bathing suit over their clothes with silly striped knee high socks and singing “The Penguin Song”? CAMP! Where can you try canoeing, crate stacking, archery, and the perfect s’more? CAMP! Where will you develop life skills including problem solving, conflict management, and teambuilding? CAMP!

Summer is just around the corner! It’s time to start thinking about fun in the sun! Six Flags Great America is again offering discounted tickets for Girl Scout Days. Tickets are available at all six GSNI Council Store locations. Tickets are only $31 each. Hurricane Harbor requires an additional fee to be paid at the park. Tickets must be purchased in person. GSNI will not mail tickets. Six Flags Girl Scout Day or Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Girl Scout Day patches are also available for $1 each.

Council's Own Badges are developed around particular themes in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. To earn the badges, girls are required to complete a number of activities for their level along with other activities involving the community. Council’s Own Badges are available to troops, groups and individually registered Girl Scouts.
