Help us celebrate GSNI’s Top Cookie Sellers at our Super Seller-bration event at Camp McCormick on May 31, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following:
- Lunch – prep and serving
- Activity set up/tear down
Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois will host a VolunTEA Party on Saturday, May 17, from 2–4 p.m., at YWCA of Rockford, 4990 E. State St., in Rockford. This free, informational gathering is open to the public and designed to highlight unique volunteer opportunities with the organization. The event is designed to match up potential volunteers' specific skill sets—such as event planning, trip coordination, and mentoring—with girls and adult teams that would benefit from their expertise.
Recently Robin Witt sat down with GSNI to talk about her experience as a Girl Scout volunteer. Robin graciously shared the many lessons she’s learned through working with girls and volunteers to achieve the Girl Scout Mission.
Typically, when you think of a Girl Scout Volunteer, you think of a Troop Leader. But, there are many other volunteer opportunities available with GSNI! Some include working with girls, and others include connecting a volunteer’s special talents with our areas of need! Also, some available positions do not require a year-long commitment.
International Women’s Day has been celebrated since the early 1900s. The theme has changed along the years to reflect different issues facing women in the world. However, the main focus has remained on the leadership women have in economic, political, and other social achievements.
