Get Moving! Get Healthy! Day Camp 
Journey: Get Moving!, Focus: Healthy Living, Camp
Summer is almost here and it's time to get up, get moving and get healthy! Join Dez. I Ner, as you work your way through the Get Moving! Journey. Learn how to energize your community and energize yourself as you get out on foot and explore the world around you. A great opportunity for girls to complete their Journey pre-requisite for the Girl Scout Bronze Award! This camp is funded through a grant from Cadence Health.
Who: Girl Scout Girls who have completed grades 4-5
Date: June 23-27, 2014
Time: 12 - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Baker Community Center

Fee: $35 per girl
Includes: Get Moving! Journey book, Journey Awards, snack each day, and field trip (must attend all 5 days to receive all awards)

NOTE: Troops/Groups must meet girl/adult ratio but it does not have to be the same adults each day. Individually registered girls must have an adult volunteer at least one day at camp.

GSNI Museum Adventure Day 
Come and explore Rockford’s historic Riverfront Museum Park District. Learn about the world’s past at Burpee Museum of Natural History, play and discover science at the Discovery Center Museum, revel in art at the Rockford Art Museum and view dance studi9os and costumes at the Rockford Dance Company. Plan the day as you see fit. Take this day to have fun with your fellow Girl Scouts!

Animals in Art

Find animals in the art work at the Freeport Art Museum. Then have some fun using acrylic paints! Be creative and paint your own artistic cat!

Seed to Table

Learn about how a plant starts as a seed and ends up on your table. You will be working on parts of the Gardener Badge. Plant some seeds and take some veggies home.

Trek Through the Tropics

Trek through Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens and discover the many tropical plants. Find out how tropical plants survive, would you be able to survive a tropical climate? And you get to take a tropical plant home at the end of your trek

Fizz, Pop, Splash!

The award-winning Discovery Museum will be at our own Camp Far Horizons for a day of science. Drip drops, dissolve powders, mix chemicals, invent goo and explore amazing things water can do. Make sure you dress for the mess, since this science experiment will be a messy day!

Let’s take an adventure to the Challenger Space Center! Learn about robots and rovers and how these important tools allow us to explore the farthest reaches of our solar system. Girls will also get the chance to design, build, and battle their own robotic rovers!

This year's theme of "animals" will focus on games and activities inspired by animals! Girls will be able to experience a new twist on outdoor skills, common camp activities, and animal care. Round up your troop and grab your sleeping bag because Troop Trek 2014 is where you want to be!
