Get Moving! Get Healthy! Day Camp 
Journey: Get Moving!, Focus: Healthy Living, Camp
Summer is almost here and it's time to get up, get moving and get healthy! Join Dez. I Ner, as you work your way through the Get Moving! Journey. Learn how to energize your community and energize yourself as you get out on foot and explore the world around you. A great opportunity for girls to complete their Journey pre-requisite for the Girl Scout Bronze Award! This camp is funded through a grant from Cadence Health.
Who: Girl Scout Girls who have completed grades 4-5
Date: June 23-27, 2014
Time: 12 - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Baker Community Center
101 S. 2nd Street, St. Charles
Fee: $35 per girl
Includes: Get Moving! Journey book, Journey Awards, snack each day, and field trip (must attend all 5 days to receive all awards)

NOTE: Troops/Groups must meet girl/adult ratio but it does not have to be the same adults each day. Individually registered girls must have an adult volunteer at least one day at camp.

 


GSNI Museum Adventure Day 
Focus: STEM
Have an adventure filled day at the Riverfront Museum Park in downtown Rockford. Spend the day exploring each museum with optional additional workshops at each to expand your knowledge. Learn about the worlds past at Burpee Museum of Natural History, play and discover science at the Discovery Center Museum, enjoy art at the Rockford Art Museum, and see a dance studios and costumes at the Rockford Dance Company. Zumba is an energizing dance-based fitness class! You will forget that you are excersing, as you get wrapped up in the moves and the music!

Home-Milked Ice Cream 
Can you guess which ingredients in ice cream come from the farm? Together, we'll milk the goats, visit the beehive, and look for wild fruit on the land. . . Then make up a batch of truly home-grown ice cream!

Spice It Up! 
Spice It Up! in this workshop by learning how plants are used in medicines and foods, girls will become frontier doctors and find the right plants to prescribe for the sicknesses spreading around the Conservatory. Next you will learn to use these plants as spices for ice cream toppings!

Join the award-winning Discovery Center Museum at Far Horizons for a Storm Savvy day! Bottle a tornado, capture a cloud, and build a barometer. Make and keep your own weather tools as you become a master meteorologist.
