My position focuses on specific parts of Girl Scout program delivery – The Girl Scout Leadership Awards (Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities. While working on Girl Scout Leadership Awards, I assist the volunteer Gold Award Committee and provide support to girls and volunteers as they work toward the highest awards in Girl Scouting. When my focus shifts to STEM, I work with volunteers and community partners to bring STEM programming to girls.

What does a girl’s self-portrait say about her? What can her own art teach her about how she looks at herself? GSNI invites all local girls in grades 4–5 to participate in Express Yourself at the Freeport Art Museum, 121 N. Harlem, on Saturday, June 22, from 3–5 p.m. Studying famous self-portraits as a guide, girls will create their own self-portraits by using expressive color with oil pastels and words that describe each girl’s unique personality. This program is designed for girls interested in building self-esteem and learning about art.
